Privacy

What this site collects, and what it doesn't.

This site can be read without telling us anything about yourself.

There are no cookies, no tracking pixels, and no advertising. The typeface is served from here rather than from a font company, so no outside service is told which pages you read.

What the server sees

The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, which sees each request in order to answer it: an IP address, the page asked for, browser and system information, approximate country, the time. Their handling of it is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy policy.

What comes back to us is a summary — how many requests arrived, how many unique visitors, which countries, how quickly pages loaded. We use it to know the site is being reached. We do not use it to identify a visitor, follow anyone across other sites, build profiles, or target advertising.

If you write

Mail sent to [email protected] is routed through Cloudflare and forwarded to a personal mailbox. I keep it as long as the conversation reasonably needs. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never added to a mailing list. There is no mailing list.

The providers that carry the site and the mail — hosting, domain, email routing, and the mail service the mailbox sits in — handle it in passing, because they must. Beyond that, nothing is disclosed unless the law requires it, or someone is at risk of harm.

What you can ask for

Browsing leaves us holding nothing that points to you, so there is nothing there to ask after. If you have written to us, that correspondence is a different matter: you can ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will. Write to [email protected]. If you are in the UK or the EU and think we have handled something badly, you can also raise it with your national data protection authority.

Leaving here

A few links lead elsewhere — to a bookseller, to LinkedIn. Once you follow one, you are on someone else's terms, and they will be doing their own thing. Worth knowing before you go.

If this changes

Should the studio ever add something that collects information — a form, a shop, a letter you can subscribe to — this page will say so plainly before it goes live, and the date below will change. The promise underneath is simpler than any policy: we are not in the business of knowing things about you.
